Winder Power HR Manager Kerry Fennelly has been proudly displaying her trophy after being awarded Best MIY Collaboration at the annual Made in Yorkshire Awards.

Kerry (pictured) secured the award for her collaboration with fellow MIY member Ruth Gosnay, Head of HR for ActionPlas.

The collaboration began after a chance meeting at a MIY breakfast networking event hosted by ActionPlas.

At the meeting, Ruth was chatting with her opposite number when both recognised that as the only HR representatives at their respective companies they should work together.

As a result, both are now able to run queries past one another to without the need to recruit additional help.

The pair try, work permitting, to meet as often as they can and if not email each other a least once a week.

It is still early days yet but in the future, Kerry and Ruth hope to join together employees at both ActionPlas and Winder Power in projects such as ‘Lunch and Learn’ sessions.

The Made in Yorkshire Awards celebrate manufacturing excellence across Yorkshire. The award ceremony took place in November at the Malmaison Hotel in Leeds.

There were five award categories: Longest Serving Member, Young Inventor, Best MIY Collaboration, Biggest Change and Most Engaged Member.

Kerry secured the ‘Best MIY Collaboration’ Award (“Uniting Industry – Creating a Lasting Legacy”) due to her commitment to sharing HR Best Practice and for her continuing input to the MIY Skills Working Groups.
